Samsung Refrigerator is Not Cooling/Cold Enough

Whether it is Samsung or any other company, if it is not used for a long time, it can cause defects. But unlike other appliances, the problem you face when the fridge is not cooling is something different.

The main reason behind the Samsung refrigerator is not cooling down could be the motor of the faulty evaporator fan. It is responsible for drawing cold air into the evaporator coil which circulates throughout the fridge, if it fails there is not enough cold air in the fridge which prevents it from cooling.

If your fridge is still not cooling, you should first check the power from the outlet to the fridge. You should also check the atmosphere in the fridge. Samsung Refrigerator is Not Cooling:

Samsung Refrigerator Both Fridge and Freezer Not Cooling

There are many possible causes of Samsung Refrigerator Not Cooling, we have discussed some of them below:

Faulty Evaporator Fan Motor:

As we mentioned earlier, the reason why the Samsung refrigerator does not cool down is because of a faulty evaporator fan motor. This evaporator is responsible for drawing cold air into the coil which circulates throughout the fridge. If it fails, there may not be enough cold air in the refrigerator to keep it cool.

How to Fix:

To fix this problem, check the motor of the evaporator fan and try to turn it by hand. If you can’t turn it on and it becomes difficult to turn this fan motor then we need to change the motor of this fan. If the hand rotates easily and does not turn, we must consult a nearby electrician as there may be a problem with the winding of the motor or its connection which prevents the motor from running.

Air Damper Control:

Another reason why the Samsung fridge does not cool down may be the air dumper control. Which is the only part of the fridge that opens and closes to deliver cold air to the compartment. Which is responsible for providing the air needed to circulate to bring the temperature down in our fridge. Check the damper control. If you are in the condition of turning on the fridge it is off or not working properly then it needs to be replaced.

Temperature Control Board:

The temperature control board is another part of a fridge that may be one of the reasons why it doesn’t cool down. But proper training is needed to fix this problem as it works to supply voltage to the fan motor and compressor. A broken control board or defective control board will not send a signal to prevent the fridge from working properly.

Need Repairman:

This problem requires a proper technician as replacing this defective control board is an expensive part of the fridge. This is one of the most commonly misdiagnosed problems in Samsung’s refrigerator. If you suspect that your fridge has a defective temperature control board, it is advisable to replace it immediately with the advice of a qualified technician.

Frosted Evaporator Coils:

Even if the frigger is working, there are many reasons why Samsung’s refrigerator does not cool down. If the most common reason for this may be that the evaporator coil is frosted. There are two parts to the game when the time is the problem. Defrost heater assembly and evaporator coil.

The defrost heater assembly is turned on several times throughout the day, the sole purpose of which is to dissolve the ice accumulated on the evaporator coil. The defrost heater assembly continues to freeze, filling the coil and restricting the flow of air through the coil. Lack of airflow does not keep the fridge cool but the freezer is working properly.

How to Fix/Need Repairman:

If you are also experiencing this problem in our fridge, check the evaporator coil to see if it is covered with ice and if so, start testing every part of your defrost system. To determine which assembly fails. However, it is usually difficult to replace any part of the defrost. That is why it is advisable that you just try to determine what could be the cause of the problem and let a professional replace the defective part for you.

Faulty Thermistor:

Another common problem in Samsung refrigerators is that even if the freezer is working properly, the reason behind the refrigerator not cooling down may be a faulty thermistor. It is a responsible part of monitoring the temperature of the fridge and sending readings to the control board. The control board will regulate the power of the evaporator fan and compressor to adjust the temperature according to what the thermistor reads.

This is one of the common reasons why Samsung’s fridge doesn’t cool down even when your freezer is on. However, there could be a variety of reasons why this might happen. So it would be best to see a maintenance specialist see your fridge.

Before you test any of your Samsung fridges, check to see if the power plug you are using is getting power, or if not plugged in properly, plug it in properly. But if the fridge still doesn’t cool down, plug in any other device on the same plug to check if the plug is powering properly. If none of the other favors are working on it, try resetting the circuit breaker to the outlet you are using.

If the outlet is working properly and the power is coming on, try lowering the temperature setting in the fridge and let it run in the same condition for a while. It will also help if you move the fridge away from direct sunlight or a heated area in the house. The heat source can make your Samsung fridge work harder to cool, and you might think it doesn’t cool even after hours of use.

Another way to reset your Samsung fridge is to unplug the fridge plug for a minute and then plug it back in. If there is a problem with its configuration, this reset should bring it back to regular mode. This is a known problem, especially if you are using your fridge for the first time.

Ambient Temperature:

If your Samsung fridge doesn’t stay cool, it’s probably because of the ambient temperature. That is why the fridge in the house should be kept away from the hot area in the house, this is a simple and straightforward solution. One thing to keep in mind is that the warmer the environment around the fridge, the harder your fridge works to keep it cool. When there is too much heat, it may not be cold enough or it will not be cold for long.

Refrigerator Parts:

Three other things besides the environment can prevent your Samsung refrigerator from staying cold. Defrost control board, defrost thermostat and defrost timer. If any one of these three fails, it can put your fridge in defrost mode forever. Even in defrost mode the temperature will be low but not cold enough.

How to Fix:

If in doubt that any of these parts have gone bad. So don’t try to change it yourself. Often people misdiagnose all three, so it would be best to have a proper test to make sure that changing them will solve the problem.

Brand New Samsung Fridge Not Cooling:

One of the main reasons for this is that your fridge is still in DEMO MODE. If you look at its display you will see o FF or oF oF, which means that this fridge is still in DEMO MODE.

If everything mentioned above is properly checked, it means that you have not given the fridge enough time to cool down.

Samsung Fridge Setting

If you have a new Samsung Family Hub fridge and it still doesn’t cool down, you may need to enable cooling mode in the fridge settings.

Check to make sure the door seals are not torn, weathered, or dirty. Dirty seals can cause gaps large enough to let in warm air, which affects cooling. If you notice dirty seals or frost build up around the gasket, clean them immediately and allow your refrigerator up to 24 hours to regain proper temperature.

Samsung Freezer Not Working but Fridge Is:

Another cause when your Samsung freezer is cold but the refrigerator is warm could be a malfunctioning evaporator fan motor. This motor is what pushes cold air over the evaporator coils and circulates it around the freezer. When the evaporator fan motor malfunctions, either the refrigerator or freezer can become too warm.

Samsung Fridge Not Running:

As we mentioned earlier, the reason why the Samsung refrigerator does not cool down is because of a faulty evaporator fan motor.
